Attendance Arrives ready to scan at the beginning of the shift and stays to its completion. Student calls when they are sick or will arrive tardy.

 

 

 

 

Appearance Student appears clean, groomed, and professional. This includes pressed uniform, appropriate shoes and good personal hygiene.

 

 

 

 

Attitude Is receptive to suggestions or corrections; exercises self-control and shows an interest in the smooth functioning of the department. Demonstrates enthusiasm and a willingness to perform duties upon request.

 

 

 

 

Professionalism Exhibits logical thought and good judgment in making decisions and recommendations. Demonstrates respect for confidential information. Accepts supervision willingly and is courteous toward staff and others.

 

 

 

 

Desire Degree to which the student demonstrates a desire to learn. Examples of this are a need to only tell them once, appropriate questions, an eagerness to look up items they don’t know and a willingness to stay late for an interesting case.

 

 

 

 

Dependability Attends shifts as scheduled; Is in assigned area on time and ready to scan at the beginning of their shift; remains in assigned area; follows through on procedures begun.

 

 

 

 

Communication Uses appropriate language and tone when communicating with patients, staff and professionals.

 

 

 

 

Exam Room Upkeep Responsible for the daily cleaning and stocking of all examination rooms, as well as daily cleaning and disinfecting of all transducers and ultrasound machines. Assists staff by cleaning all examination rooms after exam is completed.

 

 

 

 

Abnormal Findings Degree to which the student demonstrates an ability to recognize, identify and document sonographic abnormalities and pathology.

 

 

 

 

Scanning Degree to which the student applies knowledge of department scanning protocols with an emphasis on accuracy and image quality when you allow them to scan.
