CCCOnline: Online Courses through the Colorado Community College system
The Colorado Community Colleges Online is comprised of thirteen member colleges in the Colorado Community College system. Through CCCOnline, you can earn fully accredited Associate of Arts degrees, Associate of Applied Science Degrees and Certificates, in various disciplines. Colorado Community Colleges are accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
If you are already a student at Red Rocks Community College, it will be your home college for CCCOnline. Since not all colleges offer all programs, check the Courses and Programs pages to see which institution offers the degree or certificate you desire. (For example, to take OSHA courses, you will need to select Trinidad State Junior College as your home college.) Then choose your home college based on this information. You can reach all of the home colleges from the links on the Colleges Information table.
To Contact CCCOnline: You may submit our Support Request Form or call us at 844-878-2764. The CCCOnline Support Center is available by phone from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Mountain Time, Monday - Friday. More info available at the CCCOnline website.
- CCCOnline is a system-wide program with students and instructors participating from all thirteen CCCS colleges.
- Each student must choose a home school, and all earned credits are reflected on the home school transcript.
- Courses are available in 15-week and 10-week formats. The CCCOnline semester calendar may vary from the Red Rocks calendar.
- Textbooks are usually different than the ones used for RRCC classes. They are available through the RRCC bookstore and the CCCOnline website.
- Access classes at www.ccconline.org. Your user name is your Student Identification Number and your password is your RRCC PIN.
- All students are responsible for logging in within the first few days of class.
- Books and materials are additional fees for some courses. Tuition is paid to the home school.
- Section numbers for CCCOnline courses start with a "C" such as C11 for Session 1 or C21 for Session 2.

If you are taking any Red Rocks Community College courses, and you have a complaint about your experience with Red Rocks Community College, you have two options:
- You can follow RRCC’s process for student complaints, which is outlined in the Student Handbook. To file an official complaint please use the Student Complaint/Grievance Form.
- If you are residing outside of Colorado while attending Red Rocks Community College, in many cases you can file a complaint in the state where you are residing. As required by federal regulations, below is a list of agencies in each state where complaints can be filed.
Before exercising either of the above options, you should know that most (if not all) external complaint processes require that the student exhaust all avenues of complaint internal to the institution before they will consider a grievance. Students may also contact the Higher Learning Commission at www.ncahlc.org, which is RRCC’s accrediting agency.
Colorado Students:
34 CFR §668.43(b) requires RRCC to provide students and prospective students with contact information for filing complaints with the state's approval or licensing entity. In Colorado, this entity is the Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE), a regulatory body operated by the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE). The instructions for filing complaints with the Colorado Department of Higher Education can be found here.
Colorado Department of Higher Education staff can also be reached at the following phone numbers: 303.866.2723 and 303.866.4266
Note: The first requirement under Colorado Department of Higher Education guidelines is that the complainant exhausts all opportunities for resolution at the institution in question before filing a complaint with CDHE.

Your Student Experience: Class will have some live in-person components, and some on-line components. Percentage of online versus in-person can vary by class.
Hybrid Courses: Part online, part in the classroom
Hybrid classes are a combination of online and classroom instruction. Classes are designed for a curriculum that can be offered partially online, but are difficult to learn completely online. In-class instruction is held at Red Rocks (Lakewood or Arvada campuses) during the week or weekend. Hybrid courses have a "040" section number for weekday classes; "640" for weekend classes; and "240" for Arvada Campus hybrid classes.
Hybrid courses at RRCC are courses that combine on-campus classroom instruction with online learning components and/or out-of-class activities. Hybrid learning is for students who wish to combine the flexibility of face-to-face instruction with activities such as online collaborative discussions, group projects, and/or other out-of-class assignments. In a Hybrid course, traditional face-to-face instruction will be reduced but not entirely eliminated. Internet access and an email address are required for the online course activities.
Your Student Experience: A highly flexible experience where the course is delivered entirely remotely in real-time, entirely in person in real-time, or a combination of the two.
Your Student Experience: Link two related courses into one student learning experience.
Learning Communities - Link two related courses into one
Now there is an easy and innovative way to increase fundamental skills while completing your general education or degree requirements.
The Learning Communities program at Red Rocks Community College links the content of two related courses – a required general education course with a related course in your program – so learning becomes more relevant and easier for you.
Learning Communities provide a great support network.
RRCC does not offer these courses every semester, but when the timing is relevant. Check back each semester to see if one is available.

What if I can't make the first class?
Weekend classes are intensive: you cover a lot of information in a short period of time. Because of that, you need to plan ahead, note the dates, the days, and the times your class meets, and make sure you can attend all of the sessions.
What happens if I miss one class?
Depending on what the class is and how long it runs, missing one session can sometimes mean the difference between passing and failing. Check with your instructor to find out.
Will I need a textbook?
Some classes use textbooks, other classes don't. The best way to find out is to call the bookstore (303-914-6323) with the name of the course and the section number. The bookstore staff will be happy to assist you.
Is registering for a Weekend College class different from registering for other classes?
No, it's not. However, to make sure you register for the class that meets on the weekend, check the section number. At the Lakewood campus, the section number for all weekend classes is 601, and at the Arvada campus, the section number for all weekend classes is 621.
When is the latest date I can drop a Weekend College class and get a refund?
Drop dates differ. Check the date listed next to your course on the website.
How many Weekend College classes can I take in one semester?
You can take as many classes as you can squeeze in, just as long as the dates for the different classes don't overlap.
What happens if I've signed up for two classes whose dates do overlap?
Some classes do have overlapping dates. However, since over 120 weekend classes are offered during both the spring and the fall semesters, with a fewer number of classes offered during summer semester, you have many classes to choose from. To avoid any conflicts, do some checking before you register: simply look at the start date and the stop date of each class you want to take and make sure they don't overlap.
What's the difference between a Weekend College class and a "regular" class?
Weekend College classes are held on weekends! So if you work, if you have a family, or if you just want something fun to do on Friday nights, Saturdays, and/or Sundays, Weekend College classes are for you. You can work on a college degree or just take classes for fun. Or maybe you want to brush up on some skills you need for your job. Whatever the class is, and for whatever reason you're taking it, you can be sure the class you choose will be more intense. Whether it runs for fifteen Saturdays, six Saturdays and Sundays, or three weekends, it will require that you complete all of your homework assignments and attend each session. And don't be surprised when you discover you're having a lot of fun, meeting new and interesting people, and gaining confidence as you learn useful and important information.
