The Grants Office provides various services to help faculty and staff plan for a grant submission, prepare and submit a competitive proposal, and provide support post-award.
Project: Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS)
Amount: $471,780
Agency: U.S. Department of Education
Description: Funds will be used to provide access to campus-based child care services for low-income students at Red Rocks Community College. Subsidized tuition for enrollment of children 18mos. – 5years of age at the Children’s Center @ Red Rocks will be provided to RRCC students who demonstrate financial need and academic commitment on a space available basis. A preference will be given in the selection process for military-related families and students enrolled full-time. The goal of the program is to increase retention and completion rates among the student parent population.
Project: Cyber Security Scholarship Program (CSSP)
Amount: $589,843
Funder: National Science Foundation - Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM)
Description: This grant will provide scholarships for students pursuing degrees in the area of Cyber Security to ensure that the emerging and increasingly important field has access to highly trained individuals. The program will target underrepresented student groups and those students that are academically talented but demonstrate significant financial need.
Project: Colorado Helps Advanced Manufacturing Program (CHAMP)
Amount: $1,958,663
Funder: U.S. Department of Labor - Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT)
Description: The CHAMP project is a consortium project among eight Colorado institutions of higher education who together received $24,945,309 to increase the attainment of manufacturing degrees and certificates that align with the industry’s recognized competencies, skills and certifications to create a pipeline of highly-qualified advanced manufacturing industry workers. CHAMP will redesign credit for prior learning allowing TAA-eligible students to accelerate toward degree and credential attainment. The colleges will add industry-driven content to the manufacturing program and redesign several courses for online/hybrid delivery. RRCC will focus its effort on Precision Machining in partnership with Warren Technical High School.
