Sonographers perform ultrasound examinations of patients for diagnostic purposes. Typical duties include:

  • Create and interpret ultrasound images of organs, tissues, and blood flow
  • Recognize normal vs. abnormal conditions and modify exam as appropriate
  • Provide a summary of findings to interpreting physician
