Nominations for Outstanding Graduate are now being accepted from faculty, staff or current students, including self-nominations.  To nominate a student, please fill out the form below. 

The nominee must have completed a minimum of thirty semester credit hours at Red Rocks Community College with a GPA of 3.25 or better. 

Nominees must have demonstrated a positive impact in one or more of the following areas:

• Campus clubs/organizations
• Student Government
• Work study or student hourly employee
• Community or Campus Service

Both degree and certificate graduates will be considered.

The outstanding graduate nominations will be reviewed by the Commencement Committee.

Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society of the two year college with over 1200 chapters worldwide. Membership is open only to students who meet the eligibility requirements. Our chapter, Alpha Kappa Sigma, plans activities throughout the year based on the society Hallmarks of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Fellowship.

How do I join Phi Theta Kappa?

New members are invited to join during the spring and fall semester. To be eligible students must:

• Currently be enrolled in college-level courses at RRCC
• Be degree-seeking
• Have a cumulative 3.5 GPA
• Have completed 12 college-level credits at RRCC

What are the benefits of being a member?

What is the time commitment?

There is no requirement for service. Those who are interested in participating can volunteer for as little as an hour or two per event or as much as chairing a committee that works on a project over several weeks time.

The Student Government is comprised of Red Rocks students who represent the student body in a variety of capacities, including serving on college committees and advisory groups. Student Government members must be enrolled in at least six credit hours, maintain a grade point average of at least 2.5, and be committed to attending weekly meetings and other government-related activities.

All students are welcome to our hybrid meetings every Thursday from 4-5 p.m. in Grays and Torreys room 1571/1572.

MEMBERS & OFFICERS:
If you are interested in becoming a member you must attend three meetings in a row during the current semester. You must fill out this form.
If you are interested in holding an officer position like President, Vice-President, Secretary, or Public Relations you must be a member. If elections are open you can apply to any position. 

ELECTIONS:
Elections are typically held at the end of a semester if positions are open. Elections are currently open now for the fall. We are looking for a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Public Relations. 

Student Government activities and projects include:

• Allocating student fees to campus groups for student-related projects
• Researching and funding campus improvements
• Instructor of the Year election
• Participating in events like Welcome Night
• Chartering student clubs and funding some of their activities
• Participating in leadership training programs

Are you looking for something fun to do on campus? If so, you have come to the right place! Getting involved at Red Rocks in activities that are outside of the classroom is a great way to meet people and enhance your college experience. There is never a dull moment in Student Life and no matter what your interests are, there is an activity for you.

Are you hoping to get involved in leadership development, community service, or event programming on campus? If so, joining Student Government or one of our 30 clubs may be a good fit for you.

Do you have a competitive side or are you looking to break a sweat between classes? If so, ping pong or foosball may be your speed.

The Den

The Den offers a variety of activities for Red Rocks students. Throughout the semester in The Den, Student Life sponsors activities such as guest speakers, Anime Club, and Video Game Club. In addition to these activities, The Den hosts numerous guest speakers, special class lecturers, club meetings, and events, all of which are open to Red Rocks students and are FREE!  Check out Fox Life for Den activities.

Up for a little competition? Come play bubble hockey and show your friends what you've got. Only 25 cents per game.

Pinball Machine

Play the Simpson's pinball machine at 25 cents per game.

Tennis, Basketball, and Volleyball

If you enjoy a good game of tennis, volleyball or basketball and have your own equipment, the courts are all yours. The tennis courts are used on a first come basis so get out there and play! Equipment is also available at the Student Life desk for checkout.

The Student Food Pantry

The Student Food Pantry is open to all RRCC students.  No need-based application required.

Open on the Lakewood Campus, Monday through Friday 9:00am -5:00pm.

The Student Project Center

Located in Room 1551, on the West side of the Lakewood Campus, the SPC is a student-fee-funded computer lab available only to students.

Learning Domains

CAS (the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education) is a nationally-recognized leader in the Student Affairs profession, whose primary mission is promote the improvement of programs and services to enhance the quality of student learning and development. CAS has identified six student learning domains that aid in measuring student learning and development.
