A student who is earning credits at Red Rocks Community College to transfer back to their current institution. As a guest student, you will feel very welcomed at RRCC while you complete specific course work for your degree. You will find that RRCC is super affordable with an extremely high quality of education.
- Get started by completing the free online application. Use the Create Account option on the Welcome page and continue to complete the full application.
- Select non-degree seeking under declared programs. Students who are non-degree seeking do not qualify for financial aid.
- Step 1 - Submit your Prerequisite Override Request to override completed prerequisites needed for courses you are planning to register for. We can use an unofficial transcript to override prerequisites so that you can register for classes on time. Plan ahead! This process can take up to 5 business days.
- Step 2 - If you plan to graduate from RRCC and want to transfer credits from another institution toward your RRCC certificate or degree program, you can do so by first submitting your official transcript.
- Once Red Rocks Community College receives your official transcript, we will begin evaluating your transfer credits based on your declared program at the time of evaluation. This process can take up to 30 days but does not need to be completed before you register for classes.
- To expedite registration, be sure to complete Step 1 if needed.

You can check with Advising to make sure the classes you take at RRCC meet the proper requirements at your home institution and transfer. If you have further questions, you are welcome to make an appointment with a pathway advisor.

- Once registered, visit the bookstore. Click Textbooks at the top of the page to see what books you may need for your specific classes. You can also call the bookstore for more information and price matching at 303-914-6232.

- Paying for College
- To apply for financial aid, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) EACH YEAR at www.fafsa.gov. Learn more about financial aid.
- Complete the College Opportunity Fund (COF) which saves $40 per credit for students classified as Colorado residents for tuition purposes.
- Apply for Scholarships.
- Check out Payment Plans and Payment Deadlines to avoid late fees.
If you are receiving financial aid from another school, you can use your existing FAFSA to apply for financial aid at RRCC. Go to www.fafsa.gov and log in using your FSA ID username and password. To add RRCC to your FAFSA, use our school code: 009543.
If you are taking classes at more than one school during the same semester, you can only receive financial aid at one school at a time. Talk to the Financial Aid Office about a consortium agreement.
- Get your Fall student ID from the Student Life offices starting August 6th at both the Lakewood and Arvada Campuses: Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Appointments are encouraged and walk-ins may be accommodated. For evening hours, please make an appointment request through Navigate.
