A student who is earning credits at Red Rocks Community College to transfer back to their current institution. As a guest student, you will feel very welcomed at RRCC while you complete specific course work for your degree. You will find that RRCC is super affordable with an extremely high quality of education.

STEP 1:  Apply to RRCC

  • Get started by completing the free online application.  Use the Create Account option on the Welcome page and continue to complete the full application.
  • Select non-degree seeking under declared programs. Students who are non-degree seeking do not qualify for financial aid.

Step 2: Review and Verify Your Information

  • To keep your account safe and protect you from identity theft, we’ve added this extra step to our process. We really appreciate you taking the time to verify your information. During this step, we'll also review your account and go over next steps.
  • You can complete this process in one of two ways:
  • In person at the Lakewood or Arvada campus:
    Please bring a government-issued photo ID or your high school ID—this is required to remove the hold from your account.
  • Over Zoom:
    Please have your camera on and a government-issued photo ID or your high school ID ready. It’s also helpful to have your student ID number on hand. Click here to join the Zoom room You can join a Zoom session Monday – Thursday 10am-2pm and 4pm-6pm and Friday 11am – 4pm.

Step 3: Submit transcripts from previous college

  • Step 1 - Submit your Prerequisite Override Request to override prerequisites. We can use an unofficial transcript to override perquisites and help you register for classes. Plan ahead! This process can take up to 5 business days. 
  • Step 2 - If you plan to graduate from RRCC and would like to transfer in credit from another institution toward your RRCC certificate or degree program, please complete the Transfer Credit Evaluation Request form and submit your official transcripts to Student Records. This process can take about six weeks and does not need to be completed before you can register for classes.  Still complete step 1 to expedite registration. STEP 7: Paying for College 

If you are receiving financial aid from another school, you can use your existing FAFSA to apply for financial aid at RRCC. Go to www.fafsa.gov and log in using your FSA ID username and password. To add RRCC to your FAFSA, use our school code: 009543.

If you are taking classes at more than one school during the same semester, you can only receive financial aid at one school at a time. Talk to the Financial Aid Office about a consortium agreement. 

STEP 8: Get your RRCC student ID card (if all of your courses are online, you will not be issued a student ID card.)

  • Get your Fall student ID from the Student Life offices starting August 6th at both the Lakewood and Arvada Campuses: Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Appointments are encouraged and walk-ins may be accommodated. For evening hours, please make an appointment request through Navigate.
