Opportunity Next scholarship
Did you complete high school or the GED in Colorado in 2024? Are you interested in pursuing an in-demand field? You could qualify to receive a $1500 scholarship to take classes at RRCC during the 2024-2025 academic year! Thanks to the state Opportunity Next scholarship program, recent Colorado high school graduates can receive up to a $1500 scholarship ($750 for Fall 2024 and $750 for Spring 2025) to use towards tuition, fees, books, and equipment.
To qualify, eligible students must:
- Complete high school or the GED in Colorado in between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024.
- Apply for financial aid. US Citizens and eligible non-citizens: complete the FAFSA. ASSET-eligible/DACA/undocumented students: complete the CASFA state aid application.
- Register for 6 or more credits.
Awards will be prioritized for students pursing what the state considers a high-priority program. To have your account considered a priority, you must:
- Declare one of the high-priority programs listed below.
- Enroll in eligible courses. These are classes that count towards your declared program.
How to get your scholarship:
You don’t need to fill out a separate application for this scholarship! Just follow these easy steps:
- Sign up for classes and apply for financial aid:
- Register for your Fall 2024 classes
- Fill out the FAFSA or CASFA. Learn more about financial aid.
- Check your student email:
- Once you’ve registered and complete the financial aid forms, keep an eye on your student email
- We’ll let you know if you qualify for the scholarship or if there are any other steps you need to take.
- Act Fast!
- Scholarships are given on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible students.
- To increase your chances, get in touch with Admissions, Advising, and Financial Aid as soon as you can.
- Key Dates to Remember:
- Fall 2024 classes start on August 19th.
- The last day to change your declared program is September 4th, 2024.
