Stop and chat with Justin Benavides and James Koerner on The Bridge for quick questions about Mines Academy! Justin and James are our academic advisor and director for Mines Academy at RRCC. Common questions include how you can get started with Mines Academy, what resources are good to keep an eye on, and checking that you're registered for appropriate classes this Fall. No registration required before this event – please feel free to stop by when you can!

Mines Academy Orientation

Mines and RRCC will host an Orientation for new and current Mines Academy students to review the transfer process, answer questions related to the Associate of Engineering Science degree, introduce resources and opportunities at both RRCC and Mines, and provide an opportunity for students to ask questions about the experience at RRCC and Mines and strategies for success. The event will be hybrid: you can either join us in The Den on RRCC’s Lakewood campus (refreshments will be provided) or on Zoom. The Den is located just inside the Lower West Entrance, right by the bookstore.  A Zoom link will be sent out closer to the event to anyone who registers.

Many important deadlines for Fall 2024 land on September 4, including the deadline to update your declared program, apply for graduation, and the drop deadline for many classes (drop deadlines for individual classes can vary, so always check your own Detailed Student Schedule in the Student tab of The Rock to confirm yours each semester). Stop and chat with Justin Benavides and James Koerner on The Bridge for quick questions! Justin and James are our academic advisor and director for Mines Academy at RRCC. We understand that deadlines can cause stress and are happy to help with how to change your declared program, determine if dropping classes is an option, and other quick questions. No registration required before this event – please feel free to stop by when you can!

Women’s Soccer Game

Thursday, September 12 (7:30pm)
Location: at Mines (Stermole Soccer Stadium)

Join Mines Academy staff for a women’s soccer game at Mines! Students will need to cover their own transportation and/or carpool, but admission to the event should be free for Mines Academy students with passes for the game (guests are welcome but will need to over their own admission). If you’re interested in attending, just make sure to submit the registration form above. We’ll stay in touch with anyone who submits the form about any important details prior to the game, including where/when to pick up a ticket pass and where to meet us at the game.

Transfer Information Session & Football Game

Mines Admissions team will host an information session followed by a football game! Students will receive passes for admission to the football game at the event when checking in for the information session. Save the date for now, and more information and the registration link will be posted closer to the event.

Drop-in Advising Tables: Spring 2025 Registration Open!

RRCC registration for Spring 2025 opens on Monday, October 28! For Mines Academy students, we recommend scheduling an advising appointment with Justin Benavides during the months of September and October to make a plan for what Spring classes you plan to take. Then, on October 28, trying to register for the classes you need. If you run into any problems registering once it opens, RRCC Mines Academy staff will be out on The Bridge to help sort things out on October 28 and October 29, from 11am – 2pm. No registration required before this event; please feel free to stop by when you can!

Innovation Expo

Tuesday, December 3 (4pm - 7pm)
Location: The Great Hall (RRCC Lakewood Campus)
Introduction to Design and Engineering Applications (EGT 1110) is a class that's included in our core curriculum for Mines Academy. EGT 1110 presents an open-ended design challenge for engineering students, where students collaborate throughout the class to identify and solve a real-world problem. Students, staff, and guests are all welcome to join us in the Great Hall as students present their final projects on December 3! The Great Hall is located just inside the Lower West Entrance on our Lakewood Campus, right by the bookstore. No registration required before this event – please feel free to stop by when you can!
