Mines’ Pathways Explorations Series (Wednesdays starting 9/4)
Think: TED Talk! Mines is hosting a series of motivational speakers this Fall who will share their personal, academic, and professional stories (read about the speakers here). These talks will be hosted by Mines and open to RRCC Mines Academy students on the following Wednesdays:
Oct. 16: Fran Vallejo (Board Director, Retired Executive – Conoco Phillips)
Nov. 6: Dorothy Kanini Mwanzia (Geophysics graduate student)
Nov. 13: Julia Greer (Professor: Materials Science, Mechanics, and Medical Engineering)
Sessions will be hosted twice daily: once from 12:00-12:50pm, then again from 4:00-4:50pm. If you can’t make it at those times, sessions will be recorded and posted on Mines’ website here at a later time.

Transfer Information Session & Football Game

Mines Admissions team will host an information session followed by a football game! Students will receive passes for admission to the football game at the event when checking in for the information session. Save the date for now, and more information and the registration link will be posted closer to the event.

RRCC registration for Spring 2025 opens on Monday, October 28! For Mines Academy students, we recommend scheduling an advising appointment with Justin Benavides during the months of September and October to make a plan for what Spring classes you plan to take. Then, on October 28, trying to register for the classes you need. If you run into any problems registering once it opens, RRCC Mines Academy staff will be out on The Bridge to help sort things out on October 28 and October 29, from 11am – 2pm. No registration required before this event; please feel free to stop by when you can!
Innovation Expo
Tuesday, December 3 (4pm - 7pm)
Location: The Great Hall (RRCC Lakewood Campus)
Introduction to Design and Engineering Applications (EGT 1110) is a class that's included in our core curriculum for Mines Academy. EGT 1110 presents an open-ended design challenge for engineering students, where students collaborate throughout the class to identify and solve a real-world problem. Students, staff, and guests are all welcome to join us in the Great Hall as students present their final projects on December 3! The Great Hall is located just inside the Lower West Entrance on our Lakewood Campus, right by the bookstore. No registration required before this event – please feel free to stop by when you can!
