Red Rocks Community College Student Named a 2024 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar

LAKEWOOD, CO – Abigail Sprik, a Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) student, is one of 210 Phi Theta Kappa members named a 2024 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar. As a recipient, Sprik will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program is designed to help new Phi Theta Kappa members offset their education expenses while enrolled in associate degree programs. Recipients are chosen based on their academic excellence, community service, and leadership potential. This year, nearly 1,500 applications were received.

The funds from the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation not only support college completion but also offer students the chance to participate in Society programs and develop leadership skills, preparing them to become future leaders in their communities.

“Research shows that Phi Theta Kappa members are four times more likely to complete a college degree than their peers,” said Dr. Monica Marlowe, Executive Director of the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation. “The Leaders of Promise Scholarships recognize students for what they have achieved already and assure that financial need isn’t an obstacle to achieving their academic goals.”
