Red Rocks Community College Premieres Scars: Unmasked

LAKEWOOD, CO - The Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) Theatre Arts and Dance Department, in collaboration with the College Gateway Program, proudly presents the premiere of Scars: Unmasked on October 17, 18, 19 at 7pm in the RRCC Theater. Directed by Ammon Underhill and choreographed by Austin Marquez, this production showcases a script developed by a team of six writers: Dina Faye Gilmore, Apple Hultzapple, Felice Locker, Mark Sbani, Ammon Underhill, and Lisa Wagner Erickson.

Scars: Unmasked is a deeply collaborative performance, inspired by the College Gateway students and their personal stories of transformation. Established in 2006 by Catherine Lachman, a former police officer and Coordinator of the Community Policing project for the State of Colorado, the College Gateway Program supports individuals re-entering society after serving time in the criminal justice system.

Following each performance, audience members are invited to participate in a talkback session, providing a unique opportunity to engage with the cast and learn more about the Gateway Program’s profound impact on individuals, families, and communities.
