Let Us Help You

We are committed to helping students learn to write with more confidence and versatility. Our tutors are available to work with students in any subject area to improve their writing skills, offering them strategies and resources for succeeding in any kind of writing assignment.

RRCC students have a choice of three different tutoring options:

  1. Both Lakewood and Arvada campuses have FACE-TO-FACE tutoring available. When making your appointment, make sure you select your desired campus from the drop-down menu under the "Schedules" tab. Be sure to bring your assignment sheet and any progress you have made on your assignment.
  2. Lakewood campus also offers ONLINE VIDEO tutoring. To select this option, first choose the "Lakewood F2F + Video Tutoring" option under the "Schedules" tab. Next, complete the information in the "Find an Appointment" box, and leave meeting type as "Any Available." Click the "Reserve" button for the session you desire. In the following pop-up window, select "YES" in the "Meet Online?" section. Log back into the Writing Center schedule 5 minutes before your session is scheduled to begin.
  3. We also offer ONLINE DROP 'N' GO tutoring, meaning you will not see a tutor at the time of the appointment but instead upload your assignment instructions and paper to the appointment form. You will receive notice in your student email of tutor feedback on your paper within 36 hours. If this is the option you prefer, make sure you select "Online Drop 'n' Go Tutoring" under the "Schedules" tab.

Our Mission

Red Rocks Community College’s Writing Center is committed to helping students learn to write with more confidence and versatility. Our tutors are available to work with students in any subject area to improve their writing skills, offering them strategies and resources for succeeding in any kind of writing assignment.

Our tutors work one-on-one with students in every stage of the writing process, from planning to drafting, revision, and editing. The aim of the Writing Center is to focus on the process of developing more confident and competent writers, rather than to help perfect the end product of a writing assignment.

The Writing Center is open to RRCC students, faculty, and staff interested in improving their writing.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

We recognize that there is bias in the world and on this campus. We welcome diverse perspectives, yet we will strive to recognize and identify bias and discrimination in ourselves and others.

Our mission is to make you feel welcome and comfortable coming to the Writing Center, no matter your race, culture, gender identification, age, ability or home language. Writing begins with ideas, and your ideas are important to us. We welcome diverse thought and will help you craft your ideas to achieve your purpose for writing, which can be academic or personal.

You and your ideas matter. Let us help you communicate them effectively.
