Red Rocks Community College’s Associates of Applied Science in Digital Media Journalism prepares students to enter the exciting world of digital media. Learn to create blogs, micro blogs, social networking sites, virtual worlds, audio broadcasts and video podcasting, delivering your content to a world wide audience via the web. Welcome to the Multimedia Graphic Design/Photography department at Red Rocks Community College. We are proud to be the largest multimedia facility in this region of the country. Our classrooms and open labs use the latest versions of industry-standard software available. Our department offers courses leading to an Associate of Applied Science as well as an Associate of General Studies. We also offer various Certificates in fields such as Web Design and Graphics and Animation Technology.

We offer a variety of excellent course offerings, including day, night and weekend classroom, and we're currently in the process of adding online courses to our curriculum. Our core courses transfer to Colorado state colleges and universities. For a listing of our classes, as well as a complete list of all Red Rocks classes, visit our class schedule.

RRCC has a Game Design Certificate that was established in Fall 2003. Students can begin taking classes towards the certificate now. This certificate could be completed in 2 semesters if a student were to take a full load each semester.

  • Includes: interactivity, web and traditional 3D animation, programming, sound, and game design concepts (storyboarding, planning, execution)
  • Uses programs such as: Flash, Director, LightWave, and Cinema 4D
  • We’re the first community college to offer this certificate in this region.

The Multimedia Graphic Design department is located at the Lakewood campus on the lower level of the west end.

Our labs use Macintosh computers that can be used with either Macintosh OSX Snow Leaopard or Windows 7.
