Module 3: Note Taking in Class

Bridge

1. Read the documents Note Taking Tips and Note Taking and in Class Skills. Write a “What I learned paragraph” for each reading. What do you feel is the most important and useful information in each reading.

2. Download and read Note Taking Systems. Which of these systems fits your needs? You must commit to using a system for at least a semester to use it well.
Try some out, and then commit to using one. By the way, feel free to modify a system to make it personal to you and your needs.

3. Read Learning by Listening and write a plan for how you intend to improve your listening skills.

4. After completing the previous steps, write an action plan for how you will use the information found in this module in the future. Print up your plan and put the copy up in your study area.

5. For more information on any of these concepts contact the Connect to Success Office.
